ASHVABHATTA
Aśvaḥ (अश्व) is the Sanskrit word for a horse, which is one of the significant animals finding references in the Vedas.
In Vedic mythology, horse is a deeply spiritual animal that is very close to the Gods. It is believed that horse’s parents are heaven and earth. This is a strong, elegant, graceful, and yet extremely powerful creature that has myriad folklore attached to it in the scriptures.
ASHVABHATTA or ‘war-horse’ in English, is my first ever attempt to incorporate all three types of Madhubani form in a single piece of work, i.e., Brahmana ( Bharni), Kayastha ( Kachni) and Godhna Tattoo.
